The countryside around Vejer de la Frontera is ideal for hiking, or just going for a pre-dinner stroll. The town is surrounded by box pine forests leading down to fields of sunflowers, wheat and the local Retinto cattle. The colourful sights, sounds and smells of nature begin only a few minutes’ walk from your Vejer Casas holiday home.

Though autumn and spring are the perfect seasons to hike, summer and our short winter hold their own special charms. If beach walking is what you like, take a short fifteen-minute drive to the beaches of Palmar and Los Caños de Meca and walk for hours along our golden sands. Our personal favourite walk is along the cliffs of La Breña y Marismas del Barbate Natural Park towards La Torre del Tajo, which combines forests, cliffs and stunning views of the Atlantic. The horizon never felt so far away.
